His last three assistants had quit within the last 18 months.Īna unexpectedly runs into Christian at the opening of her friend Jose Rodriguez' photography exhibit. If you are going to go there, please please listen to them all. When Anastasia "Ana" Steele leaves Christian Grey, he has nightmares of his abusive childhood.Īna begins a new job as an assistant to Jack Hyde, an editor at the Seattle Independent Publishing. I liked it a lot in the context of all three books. I looked back at the reviews of FSOG and if I hadn't already listened to it I probably would have skipped it - the reviews are that bad. It actually makes the story of redemption even better (but not more realistic). I knew he did that lifestyle but I didn't know he enjoyed it so much. He really DOES like hurting Ana and the subs before her. He is much darker than I pictured him in the first book.
It was tedious re-doing the contract and emails but for the most part I really liked hearing his side of the story. He is much better than the female narrator in FSOG. It really is the same book but with the switched viewpoint. I listened to FSOG again before I listened to Grey. Heck that's why it says 50 Shades of Grey as told by Christian. I don't understand why so many are upset and shocked that it is the same story. I would like to see the other 2 books done in his POV. You find out that neither one of them was communicating what they felt to each other. Plus, without all of Anna's inner thoughts you get to hear Christian's inner thoughts and how he didn't always understand what was going on with Anna. All the things that drove Anna (and the reader) crazy because she wanted to know what was going on, in this book you get to find out.
Robbinson, what was said on the other end of phone conversations. You get to hear what got said between him and Mrs. Why did he know so much about her? To Anna he just showed up out of the blue but from Christian's POV you find out what was really going on. When you read the original books you have questions. Yes it is the same story but it had a totally different feel to it. It was great to find out all the things that went on in the story when Anna could not hear or wasn't around. This audiobook is intended for mature audiences. Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him? Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him - past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian's cold, wounded heart. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist.
